Documenting Isn’t That Hard

Richard Lewis

Just like the title said it’s not that hard and it one of the most important things in software and process fridgeNotebookHack.jpgdevelopment is the the Documentation part. But it’s most often the most over looked do to time and no short term benefit. But long term after the developer has forgotten what they did back then the documentation they have written will still be there for the next developer to come along and revise, enhance, or just get a better understanding of what is taking place and how it done. Below are a couple of things everyone should remember when documenting.

The First 5 Things I do When I Get a New BlackBerry

Richard Lewis

Last week i got the new Blackberry 8520 Curve and i though I would write my first five things similar to ones did on the blackberry blog site. Since i this my third blackberry I’ve got my steps setting up down pretty good.

  1. Download Google Mobile Apps; OMG this has got to be my used applications on my blackberry. First the Google sync is one hell of an application it syncs up my address book and calendar to my Gmail account. Then instead of using the blackberry maps application i would rather use Google maps. Google
  2. Download Facebook and setup app so that it downloads pictures to my contacts, calendar events, and what not’s
  3. Pull down a new service book; so that my work, Jaycees, and personal emails start flowing to my new device.
  4. Ping all my friends with my new pin; Blackberry messenger has to be one of most easy to use messenger clients out there, btw if you want my PIN text me and I’ll give it to you.
  5. Set my background; of course i use one the White Sox. I pulled one that i took last year while me and Ann was at the sox game down from my Facebook mobile pictures album.

This new Blackberry device has way more capabilities then my last model. First I’m taking full advantage of the Apps World and second OMG Pandora runs so smooth and fast on it just like playing a song from my iTunes Library.

Why i tweet

Richard Lewis

image

I’m a really big fan of micro-Blog services for a couple reasons one I hate writing long blog imagepostings and the other is just the simplicity of the technology I can just post to it with one hand while driving or while eating, or sitting in a meeting. Sinceimage I begin twittering just about three months ago I’ve posted over 600 updates. Everything from my daily status to just random questions, but hey so check out my stats below of my usage patterns.

Spring Consolidation

Richard Lewis

image Ahh it’s the most wonderful time of the year, the sun is shining the grass is growing nice and green. It couldn’t be more picture perfect. I’m just relaxing at home outside with a miller lite and my laptop. I figure today was a great day to spend a little time cleaning up my network. My home is scanning for duplicate filesimage across my network and when it’s done it will be time to dump some of those too. I figure now is a good time while I wait why don’t I import some more postings from back in the day when I use to have a livejournal account. Today I’m introducing just about 200 new posting from 2005 and 2006 and few from early 2008 that were posted to my old livejournal blog “The Wondering Mind Of GoGoRichie” I hope you enjoy them there quiet funny especial the ones written after coming home from the bar such as “How to block the mother hen attack” I know it’s one Jessica’s favorites.
