One of the coolest parts of my job is working with suppliers to bring you all great deals.  Today, I am announcing a deal that is the best we have delivered so far this year.  The time is perfect as the economy is what it is, and people are getting prepared for going back to school.image

Sunday at 8 am, we will begin selling a Toshiba laptop that has 2GB of RAM, 120GB Hard Drive, Reads and Writes cd’s and dvd’s, has a 15.4” screen, has wireless capability and the Windows Vista Premium Operating System.  All of this for $398.  That’s right; $398!!  This is a tremendous value for anyone looking for a laptop.  Supplies are limited (we did buy a lot, but think at this price it will be quite popular).  This item will also be on the front cover of our circular this Sunday.

As I’ve said before, you can expect we will keep delivering on great prices in electronics.  You bet we want to be competitive — and especially this year show students (and moms) we know they care about both the price and the product!

The Tools Of My Trade

I spend a majority of my day developing web applications for my business I wanted to tell you a little about the tools I use. I pretty geeky and cheap so the software on my workstation is primary resource based. I do have FrontPage, dreamweaver, but I would rather write my own code. I use a little application called Jedit primary. It’s basically like notepad with tons of add-ons. In addition to that I use SQL Manager to maintain my SQL servers and table. besides those two which I use day in day out. I just started developing for ASP.net so I using a GUI tool called Visual Web Developer Express edition of course because it’s free. my teammates have faster, nicer workstations but I use a Dell Optiplex GX280 SFF it’s small lite and I don’t know any other department in my company that has them besides mine.

Dell Optiplex GX280 SFF Configuration:

  • Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz
  • 512MBytes DDR2-SDRAM
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional

Oh and Additional Applications I use a lot:

Filezilla
WinVnc
GIMP
